Beached Whale - Sad, but True!

We had the opportunity to see a beached baby whale that had washed ashore on Torii Beach.  It was terribly sad, but an amazing site to see at the same time.  The boys were fascinated at the size of this baby whale and what could have possibly happened to cause this.  The picture is grainy, but it was really a special thing to witness.

Pearly Whites

Trying to tie up loose ends and that means squeezing in those last appointments.  Beau had his check-up at the dentist and he was cool as a cucumber!  Love this kid!

Soccer Season!!!

Forgive my lag in posts, but we are in the depths of soccer season, planning our upcoming move back to the states, and everything else we can throw on our plate.  Soccer season is HUGE right now in our house.  Bennett is rockin' and rollin'.  He scored 2 goals the first game, 4 the second, and 1 the last game played.  This weekend he was ready to keep the streak alive, but the weather had other plans.  He'll get to enjoy a weekend of rest due to a rain cancellation, but that just means an extra week to get pumped up.  He's quite the competitor and it doesn't hurt that his fan club comes ready to support.  Beau-man is president of the fan club sporting his Wild Things green, and truth be told, he could handle his own on the field if given the chance.  I don't have the green shirt, but there's never any question what side I'm on....I yell enough for all of us.  (I'm working on my self-control)....We're enjoying the season and making fun memories.  We'll keep you posted on the scoring streak....

Motley Crue

My sweet friend, Patti, was so kind to pick up the boys from school when I hopped over to Korea for a few days.  To repay my debt, I am keeping her kiddos overnight while she sneaks off for a girls' night.  We've had a busy day hitting up Toguichi Beach Park for the afternoon.  We met another friend and her kids there as well both with the same goal.....wear them all out.  We managed to snap a picture of this rowdy bunch in the middle of playtime and their grins just about sum it all up.

1st Soccer Game - Go Wild Things!

Bennett has been so excited about his first soccer game of the season and he came out ready to play.  He scored the only 2 goals scored by his team and I was a maniac soccer mom on the sideline.  I wish, wish, wish I could have caught it on video, but with Fletcher gone and keeping up with Beau, I couldn't manage it all.  He was so proud of himself though and did a little cheer over to the parents when he scored both times.  Precious!  He couldn't wait to tell Fletcher when he called home. So proud of our little Wild Thing and looking forward to next Saturday.

Breakfast w/ Beau

We've had a super busy week and I'm not sure why.  Between tennis lessons and soccer practice, homework, and Fletcher being gone, I felt like I was running around literally every second of the day.  But it's a good busy, so I'll take it.  Today Bennett had a field trip and had to be at school an hour earlier than Beau in order to catch the bus.  SO Beau and I took advantage of a rare treat....spare time in the morning.  We're usually running out the door to be on time for school due to our 30 minute commute (on that note, I'd like to mention I'm doing everything possible to have a shorter commute to the boys' next school).  After dropping off big brother this morning, Beau got to pick a breakfast spot.  It took him all of 2 seconds to choose donuts.  His first choice was Mr. Donut, but we went with Dunkin purely based on its convenience.  1 donut with sprinkles please!  I wish I could record our conversation because there's not a single thing that gets lost on this kid.  He catches it all and throws it right back at you with the cutest grin I might add.  Just wanted to share a few pics of our Beau-handsome!  He's growing so much and becoming quite the student at school.

Picture Day for Beau

Beau informed me that he needed to wear his tie to school on Friday because it was picture day and he wanted to look "super nice."  Needless to say, we rolled with it.  Super nice was an understatement....we don't call him "Beau-handsome" for nothing.  He's a sweetheart!  Friday was also parent/teacher conference for Bennett which means no school.  We went to the driving range to practice my swing (and his).  He took to it quicker than I did.  Blessed with beautiful weather and a great report from his teacher, Bennett and I spent the day outside hitting the golf ball and then onto the tennis courts.  Not a bad way to spend a day if you ask me. :)

P.S.  Did I mention that earlier in the week I got to sneak away for two nights to Korea on a UC-35 or as we like to call it, the Barbie jet.   Not a bad way to travel.  And since I wasn't driving anywhere, once we landed in Osan, I had the first margarita I've had in 2 years.  Ahhhh, margarita, how I've missed you.  We left on Tuesday and got back in time to pick the boys up from school on Thursday.  Gotta love a little international hop.
