Music City!

We left Papa and Grammy's and headed to Nashville to meet the 2 latest additions to the family.  Hollis and Evelyn were waiting!  We spent 2 and a half weeks in Tennessee swimming, playing with cousins, and enjoying the last leg of our visits.  Pops took us for a walk and bike ride around Radnor Lake, we visited The Hermitage and saw Andrew Jackson's burial, and loved the Adventure Science Center, but the highlight of the day was usually pool-time.  Lots of cool things to do in Nashville.

West Texas

Still playing catch up on our summer adventures.  We left Bonham and flew to West Texas to Papa and Grammy's ranch.  Again, I didn't take half the amount of pictures I wish I had, but that just means I was participating in the fun and not just a spectator.  The boys loved getting to ride horses, ride the metal "steer", swim, and get up to do it all over again.  The Palodera Canyon was a highlight and watching the fabulous musical TEXAS!  Fletcher thinks we're always trying to brainwash him when he comes to visit my side of the family, but we like to think of it as our civic duty to educate. :)  Loved getting this special time Dad and Deb and the boys can never get enough time with Papa and Grammy!

North Texas

There is a special place in my heart for North Texas.  That's my home.  That's where a lot of my family live and where most of my friends still reside.  I just love it.  I don't get to go back as often as I would like, but I do just love it.  There's nothing like going home and sleeping in your old bed.  I could hibernate there for sure (and I think I may have through high school).  We left Seattle and flew into DFW after missing our flight.  Literally missed our flight while sitting RIGHT in front of the gate.  Does that really happen?  I can confidently say it does.  We'll blame it on still being jet-lagged, but it may have something to do with our children again wrestling in the airport.  That can be distracting. :)  Texas was fab.....as Roxie would say.  Swimming, snow cones, working in the garden, and playing in the tree house filled our days.  We hung with family, had dinner with friends, and got to spend some great time just sitting on the deck with a cocktail in hand.  Unfortunately, I think I had too many cocktails in hand and not my camera enough.  I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but the memories are there.  I <3 Texas!

Busy Summer - Let's Start w/ Seattle!

Well, I've neglected our blog this summer to say the least, but I have a good excuse (actually several).  I'll start from when we left Okinawa.  Talk about a whirlwind.  Bennett graduated from Kindergarten on Friday and we hopped our plane home early Saturday morning.  Conveniently traveling back in time, we arrived in Seattle Saturday morning as well.  Our plan was to stay over in Seattle for about 4 nights to help get us over the jet lag hurdle and explore beautiful Washington State in the process.  It was the perfect time to visit the pacific northwest coming from hot and steamy Okinawa.  We spent our days driving (on the right side of the road) and enjoying the lovely scenery with two boys wrestling in the backseat.  Can you say Grizwalds????  Oh the joys of traveling with a 4 year old and 6 year.  Olympic National Park was a highlight of our trip for sure reintroducing the boys to snow, lakes, and giant trees.  The views were stunning and we were all amazed walking through the rainforest at the gorgeous, mossy trees.  God's creations never cease to take our breath away.  Seattle was wonderful, but we were excited about our next stop.......my home sweet home!
